Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect when you read the guides or send us a message, and how you control it.

Updated October 18, 2026

What we collect when you write to us.

When you send a question or a sponsorship application, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you add one, your message and the page you sent it from. We use these details only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell them. Our message form is not connected yet, so today nothing you type in it is kept.

What we collect when you read the site.

Our web server keeps standard access logs, which record the address of your device, the page you asked for and your browser type. We use them to keep the site secure and working. Optional advertising runs only after you allow it in your cookie choices.

Visit counting.

Visit counting is not active yet. If we turn it on, it will run only for readers who allow it, and your browser's Global Privacy Control signal will keep it off.

Advertising.

With your permission, Google AdSense shows ads inside some guides. Google may then use cookies to measure and personalise those ads. Read how Google uses advertising cookies. If you choose necessary cookies only, no AdSense code loads.

Amazon links.

The parts list links to products on Amazon with our associate tag, and we may earn a commission when you buy through those links. Amazon handles anything you do on its site under its own privacy notice.

Videos.

Guide videos are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The player then loads from youtube-nocookie.com under Google's privacy policy.

Your choices.

You can change your cookie choices at any time with the Cookie choices button in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep advertising and visit counting off.

Changes to this policy.

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page and ask for your cookie choices again if the change affects them.
